have got a chance to get a pace charge cooler for my FRST but wanna know more info about it, guy selling it is helping as much as he can but not enough.
which is going to be better for my car, its noe standard and is running a P1 set up.
hows it mounted in the car etc andwould i see a better difference than my pace intercooler?
any pic's of charge cooler in FRST would be great
need help ASAP as i may lose it if i leave it much longer.
cheers chap's

The charge cooler is better than the small intercooler.
The cc unit is bolted to the side of the rad like the std. intercooler was, and the cooling rad is bolted where your pace intercooler is now.
theyre ok untill you want big power ... then the chargecooler water temps seem to creep up and therfore so do your A.C.T's.

so which is better? i can getb this charge cooler for £140 inc postage, all parts included, im not going for reall big power like 200bhp+ im happy with waht i got, just wondering if the charge cooler is good enough to get, i recokn ill get the money back on my pace on ebay
It is cheap!! and it is better than what you have at the moment.
The intercooler will make more than that on ebay for shure.
Make shure there are no leaks on the chargecooler itself(internally).
Its really difficult to tell without a pressure test- but if it leaks it's no good at all.
ask why he is selling??may be up grading or may be a leaker??worth finding out.

I had to send a snotty letter to the MD explaining how we helped you out with the fan design etc (As agreed) and had to send the first one back, leaving me one day out of pocket labourwise etc and all i want now is the bastard pipe to finish the poor lads car off etc etc etc. and i "begrudgingly" was sent one.
We live and learn pal, we live and learn.
it is a pace but it is very old.. probably 10 years!.. its the old style one with 2 x cores inside.. the later ones are 3 cores.
This one bolts up behind your water radiator(on to the battery tray as I remember?) and not to the side of the rad as I previously said..
the picture does not show a pump... is there one with the kit??
if not, expect to pay approx £100 for a replacement..

pump? i dunno mate, even if there is, it is still worth getting for £140 or shall i just stick with what i got for a easy life?
which part bolts to battery tray? the rad part of it?
i will find out if there is a pump, if not, it not worth getting as i dont have abnother 100 for one.

I would go intercooler route, and a decent one. Pump wise on the Charge cooler, I fitted a Volvo 440? (the one that looks like a wedge of cheese) coolant pump as the pace one packed up and was £140 to replace, £15 pump and it belted the water round, Volvo so reliable and it was smaller so tucked away nicely, would still go the Intercooler route though, far more simple and less to go wrong.
