Could someone advise me if this is an easy diy job to do.
Is filter and drain plug easily accessible to remove ? What oil filter do you recommend ?

 

Yes its very straightforward to do. Oil filter would be cheapest from a motor factors (halfords bump the prices up massively), or even a genuine ford one, which are cheaper than halfords.

As for oil, you will need 5w30, available from a motor factors or halfords often do special deals on containers of oil, such as a free pack of screwdrivers etc. You will need round-abouts 4.5 to 5 litres.

 

Recommended oil for the car is Ford Formula SAE 5w-30. Is this semi synthetic or synthetic?

 

I am not sure, pretty sure semi synthetic, but there is only one type of 5/30 available as a ford zetec engine is the only type of engine that takes this grade of oil.
