Default How much oil?

Can anyone tell me how much oil exactly a 4x4 cossie should hold? Always had the cars serviced by someone else! Just brought some mobile1 15w 50w and a new filter etc,The obvious is to use the dipstick but by the time the oil gets to the bottom

Cheers James.
