Smile immaculate stg 3 2wd smokestone sapphire feature car.

cant believe im doing this but after much soul searching i have decided that having this in the garage is a waste as it never gets used and i could buy a few other toys with the money.ill start with the bad points.when i got it it was stolen recovered so i think its recorded as a cat d,i have never hpi'd it as to me that fact pailed in comparison to how standard and straight it was, there was no damage to the car whatsoever except the interior was missing, whoever took the car had a key as the alarm was still wired in and working and there was no lock damage.since i bought it 2 1/2 years ago i have transformed it from a standard flint grey sapph to a 335 bhp smokestone blue feature car.it was photographed for fast ford last month so will be in 1 of the upcoming issues.
the suspension is adjustable and has never been set up with corner weights etc,but i have enquired and it should take no more than 2 hours to do from the likes of a.g motorsport.
right, now on to the good bit!!
body.rouse style rear spoiler,4x4 rear lights and number plate panel, new windscreen, all new door mouldings, window seals, badges, lights, alloy sideskirt clips,rs500 style front splitter,rs500 style bumper cut out, morretes, full extensive proffesional respray in smokestone blue, new 4x4 vented bonnet, new scuttle panel, new wiper arms and aero blades.full underside resto, new ford bolts, nuts, washers, clips, brake pipes, braided fuel lines, new fuel pump cradle and filter, powdercoated everything except engine xmember.painted fuel tank.
suspension
dome motorsport rose jointed adjustable rear beam(camber, castor) all beefed up around main beam area, new gaz gold coilovers, fully polybushed, adjustable front tcas, new wheel bearings all round, powdercoated hubs, anti roll bars and diff.new prop center bearing, omp front strut brace
engine
top end rebuild last year,new seals,cometic grpa headgasket,arp stud and nut kit,new water pump,timing belt tensioner,ggr belts,bailey turbo damper,t34 turbo with .48 housing and 360.c bearing,full samco boost,coolant and ancilliary plus amal valve hoses,mikalor clamps where possible,bosch 803's,msd 330 chip,rs5oo style alloy cooler,radtec alloy radiator,k@n grpa filter,044 fuel pump,3 bar map sensor,all new sensors and amal valve,powdercoated brackets,bailey breater tank,bailey header tank,forge swirl pot,burton bottom pulley,powdercoated cam cover,vernier pulleys,good oil pressure when hot or cold,4" mongoose exhaust
brakes
front compbrake 350mm rotors and bells with 4 pot calipers, rear is compbrake 300mm discs and bells and 4x4 ford calipers, new handbrake cable, new ford green brake pipes, braided hoses on the rear, new fittings throughout, new clips, dot 4 fluid
interior
colour coded spokes on 3 spoke wheel, shortened gearstick, retrimmed roofcloth and c pillar panels, full mint leather with new drivers base bolsters,cd player, ford racing boost, volts and oil pressure gauges in center vent panel.
wheels are compomotive mo,i have 5,the spare is damaged but useable with a matching tyre,i bought the set that way and the rear n/s wheel is a little kerbed but not really noticeable, the tyres are 215/35/18 yokahama parada spec 2 tyres.
i have spent about 17k on this car not to mention the favours, freebies and hard work put in by myself to get it how it is,the speedo reads 35k,whether thats correct i dont know, but going by the condition of the car it could be as it wore all of its original paint before it was bare metalled for painting.it has not had any welding and there were no sdigns of crash damage.i have done 3100 iles in it since i bought it,half the fun is building it.i want Ł9000 for it,bit steep you might think but try building 1 as good with the same spec and you will know this is cheap.if it doesnt sell i might consider breaking it,although this would really break my heart.im not open to offers but i may part ex for a tidy 88 spec s2 in mercury grey.

there are probably a few things i have forgotten about.the private plate is not included,it has 10 months mot and 4 months tax,i have all the receipts for all the parts i have bought,i have done almost all of the work myself except the paint and im very fussy.all the parts on my car are brand new,(genuine ford where available),powdercoated or have done less than 1000 miles so are still like new, that includes the turbo, suspension underside resto etc.i dont have time for timewasters so please dont try.p.m me with any questions, thanks, lee

i can see them!wish i hadnt taken them on my iphone, doesnt show it as good as it is.9k is steep, but you could take off al the bits and throw away the shell and still have a bargain.cat d is nothing,if it was anything to worry about then i would not have went as far as i did and spend so much.

just been informed by someone that done a hpi check that its a cat c.i have never done 1 myself,i got a pal who gets free limited checks to do 1 a while ago and from what came back he told me it was cat d,its never bothered me and it only got its classification as the interior was missing and at the time it was 17 years old there would have been no way the insurance company could have found a new interior for it.its a real shame as there will be utter sheds going about with clear history and mine is mint apart from this black mark.

Think the best way to maximise revenue would be to break IMO. Good choice.

Shame to break, but with its history it'll always effect the value that people put on it... lovely looking saph.

thanks,i have to emphasise, the car was not damaged whatsoever, when it was found the only thing missing was the interior, and because the car was 17 years old at the time the insurance estimated the cost or impossiblity of finding a new interior was higher than the value of the car, hnce it fell into the category of cat c,if it had a bit of lock damage and a scuffed bumper it would have been cat d,but it didnt even have that.i would far rather have a cat listted car that was mint than a rusty well used shed with clear history!

Very very nice car, be a shame to see it broken one of the best colours!
do you think it'd be more saleable if you dropped to Ł8k (or even be prepared to do it?) SAVE THE SAPPHS!

(you know you could keep it and use it more instead...)
