I've got a good size lock up, gun's, compressor's, air lines etc etc

and have a tourmallard green RS I want turning black but have never painted a car before

would you have a go at it?

well if you dont do it, youll have to pay someone to do it and if you do it then youve got the satisfaction of doing it and itll be cheaper, and if worse comes to worse you pay someone to do it, i say go for it

Depends what type of paint you will be using, if its 2 pack then get it done in a booth and save your health!

I would read up on the internet,

then paint some old panels like a bonnet etc and see how you get on.

From what i gather waterbased paints are a pain if you don't have an 'oven'

Not taking into account health or enviromental issues............I'd deffo have a crack at it. Practice on a scrap bonnet first then give it a go. As long as you get the prep right you can always 'correct' it after.
