Default Cosworth TPS setting

Am i right by saying to set these you press the throttle to the floor and turn the TPS until it clicks and tighten up?

I'd have to check but I'm sure the pedal is up and you move the TPS to set it at the beginning of its travel - i.e. just take up the tension as it were... am away from home so no notes and my memory is crap - can anyone confirm??

You have to set the voltage, should go from 0.5 to 4.5 on a 4x4, 4.5 to 0.5 on a 2wd. That's all iirc lol

Have the manual instructions here - pretty straightforward as per my comments above really - you got it sorted yet? PM me your email if you want a photo of the page or anything

multimeter black probe on pin 1 of the ecu, red probe on pin17

should read

<0.35 v at closed throttle
4.5-5v at wide open throttle

Good this came up, I dont get a reading when measuring on pin 1 and 17, only on pin 11(if i remember right) and 17. Bad loom or what? Its a l6 ecu pf01 tps.

Does anyone know where to buy new push in clips for the ecu plug? And maybe a tool to replace them with.

I'll try this tonight, I'm running l8 ecu and 4x4 pf09 sensor but using my 2wd wiring still, is it still the same and I have heard that when youchange to l8 you need to swap the tps plug about, but if I have changed to a 4x4 tps do I still need to switch the 2 end wires or leave as it is?

if you have l8, 4x4 tps sensor and 2wd loom, then you need to swop the outer two wires around and the readings are the opposite of 2wd readings

tried checking mine today...

pin 1 and pin 17 didnt seem to get any difference in reading when touching peddle?

can someone just explain how to do??

im guessing cars not running but ignition on?

is pin one top left? and you go down so pin 17 is right side 3 down?

does the idcv need to be connected??

thnx lee

the pins are numbered, dismantle the plug and you will see them.

Dragging an old thread up - was set before on the same inlet at above readings fine, changed to an airtec throttle bracket and set at 0.35v closed and 3.75v open which isn't right any ideas?

When using a L6 the voltage should be 5v at closed and goes down when opening throttle

on a L8 its the opposite

If you are using a 2wd loom and a L8 ecu, you need to swith the outer wires around, and ideally use a pf09 tps

I'm using a 2wd loom, L8 and a pf01 tps , with the wires swithed and it works

Not sure whats going on with your two car but your going the wrong way - it's the lesser value at closed rising when open
