I loved my old one, underrated cars and lots of people hate them for not real reason.
I'd have another in a heartbeat
Some pics of it just to be a pic whore

I had a Mk6 RS2K too, it was excellent fun, definitely under-rated. I4 engine is great though a little thirsty - I was averageing around 29mpg doing long motorway runs and around town but the car was chipped and I didn't hang around on the motorways.
Awaiting band wagon of "they're shit, not a proper RS blah blah"...

I had one for about 6 months. Never really got on with it, having had S2's before i found the Mk6 even more prone to rust, floorpans & sills, tailgate & arches, not even much fun to drive. Sold mine and bought another S2.
Not sure if mine was a wrong un or not?

Yep they rust, dont worry if the paint under the bonnet is thinner under the bonnet thats just frod cost cutting, and some of the metallics had white under the bonnet.
Yes they are rpone to rust but very reliable, but they have a habit of eating starter motors, very good underated cars

For me i'd have one over a series 2 any day.
Fair enough its easy to make a series 2 fast, but it'll never handle as well as the 2000 unless you spend lots of money.
Side by side, standard to standard, the RS 2000 is a superior car in my opinion. I find it a bit annoying they are not considered a proper RS....
Unique engine/transmission/interior/bodykit (that the GTi inherited after the RS 2000 finished production) its just as different from a base model as any RS has been.

Your talking to sheep fella, not all only the ones with the argument about the RS badge etc etc
Snobbery is all it is, I apreciate there are lots of YB/RS owners who aint! and dont be fooled there are plenty of them about.
i have never been able to part company with mine even though i have an escos, st3 and focus rs2, its still an rs even without the turbo

Ive had a RS2k it's not what I thought it was going to be, only bought it as a daily runner, good on petrol, reliable, good handling. For some reason feels there something missing, not sure what it is. only lasted 3 months with me I got bored of it.
