Right, i've got a mk1 1.6 mondeo and i need to do the timing belt & tensioners as i drove it back from plymouth to southend on knackered ones.. ( 275 miles !! ) she rattles like a tank and i can lift the timing belt with my finger and pull it round about 3 teeth on the cam pulleys !

question is, is it do-able with the engine still in-situ or not ?

Is this actually do-able with the engine in the car ? there's a pulley that no matter how i approach it, i can't get a spanner on it to undo it

 

that will be the water pump plullie im gessing?

 

i dunno, i ended up getting the arse with it and leaving it - it's at the back below the alternator, the gap between the bolt & inner wing is about 15mm ?
