I think it can. check it voltage at ECU side at idle. do you use lamda? how do you know about overfueling?

After installing a used map sensor I couldnt adjust the co reading at idle below 8%. After buying a new one it solved this problem.

When the map sensor went on my 3 door it drove awful off boost and spluttered on idle when you gave it some beans it was fine, it was the map sensor telling the ECU it was in boost all the time and bunging in loads of fuel constantly, loads of black smoke as well.
Changed the map sensor and it was fine.

That sounds like the symptoms I'm getting, bad idle cutting out etc clears at higher revs and black smoke on idle.

Looks like a new 3 bar map sensor needed then.

Thanks for the input.

No, when driving it was too lean, but that was due a bad chip. The idle problem was a bad map sensor.

'Nice' to have these two defects at the same time... Time consuming but solved in the end!

Good luck.
