hi i have a s2 rst and my fuel pump was making a loud wineing noise louder than usal and crackled now and again but it was old so i replaced it with a brand new uprated bosh fuel pump and it went fine even uped the boost slightly for about a month of daily usage then i noitced it was making the same noise the old one did and its only a month old the car had plenty of fuel in it still makes same noise on ether v power and standard unleded

is any 1 able to tell me what they think?

these fuel pump make a noise....like zzzzzzzzz. I have a xr3i and rs turbo s2 they there is the same noise.... xr3i has a 20 years old pump and rs 3 months. The noise is the same...

 

Mines's pretty quiet. I'd suggest checking your fuel lines aren't partially blocked, making the pump work hard.

 

The main feed pipe out of the pump has a non return valve in it these have stuck before on my car making the pump buzz louder , i tried many pumps to. Its just a case of cleaning it and making sure its free to move, its like a ball bearing in a retainer.
