Rev counter on td engine..

I've fitted GTI clocks (MK6) to my van. Any ideas which pin in back of clocks is for Rev counter? and can You wire it using Ve signal on Diesel altenator??

what years is the van?

ive got a 97, i fed a wire from pin 13 of the ecu to i believe its pin 8 (blue plug, it may be empty) on the back of the clocks, works fine.
