Default Anyone flushed their heater matrix before??

Thinking of flushing out the heater matrix in series 2, blowers only blow cold air! Tried everything else so thought it might be worth giving it a go before replacing the matrix! Anyone one done this? Thinking of just whacking a bit of cillit bang through the matrix and then blasting it through with the hosepipe! Wot you reckon??

Seems like alot of agro for something that probably won't make much difference! If I had gone to the agro of removing it, I'd almost definately replace it.

Replaced the thermostat with a lower operating temperature - no change

Its still in the car, thought I'd give it a go as its hassle to remove the dash etc. A mate did it to his Mk5 Escort and it worked a treat!! Thought it may be worth a go just to see if it works.
