want to repaint my cosworth rocker,,, but want a great finish as doing it diy job..

any tips. or anyone go pics of how they done theres

I nitromored mine so it had no paint on, then degreased loads. I used some hammerite blue aerosol paint from halfords, as it looked somewhere like the proper blue! It was on a spare cam cover so was just an experiment that turned out much better than expected!
All i did was spray the entire thing...

and then got a scraper with a stanley blade in and just went over the parts i didnt want paint on. It came off all in one lump.




Then i polished up the parts i scraped with abit of metal polish and it looked brand new. no pics of that though, cant seem to find them.

found one when it was completely finished, just started raining when took the pic so lets it down abit

 

its called nitromores and its in a green tin and can get it from halfords

both of them have been painted,

Started off with the covers being shot blasted, then cleaned (in the dish washer)
After that a really good coat of acid etch primer,
A healthy coat of high build primer,
Hours of flatting
paint
laquer
mop and polish

its currently sitting on top of the engine as we speak its going on dude, needs some more work on te letters but fear not its staying

I know exactly what you mean, its all the sanding and flatting

Has the heat effected the paint/finish??

im really worried as soon as mine gets warm its going to look pants

it will deff b on the road by sept tember as im going the ring in october

dunno yet. the car's not been run since it was finished..

i've been told it'll be ok. if not i'll just do it again..lol

 

hurry up and drive urs if it fooks the paint i will put mine on the living room wall as a work of art

 

should be on the road this yr..just gotta weld the floor,paint the back door's, renew fule line's,cv boot's and a lower arm.

oh then remember how to put it all back together..
