Default Cosworth owners with .63 Housings...

at what RPM is your turbo on full boost by?

I'm seriously considering keeping my .48 instead of going upto a .63...

What are your views?

thanks mofos

go for a .55, best of both worlds, that's what i had

edit: plus each engine will differ at what they come on fully boost at; e.g different cams etc

3550rpm on mine @ 31 psi iirc and gradually drops to 22psi @ 7040rpm

Pulls well enough from 2500 mind.

if you keep your .48, you will need to get your chip spec changed by stu...

i would personnally opt for the .63 in yours mate, which is what your chip is already specd for.

.48, .55, .63 are the t34 exhaust housing variants mate,

your chip is speccd for a .63, the compressor maps are vastly different between the types, so its important to have the correct chip for your chosen turbo to get the fuelling spot on

goes well on the .48 tho eh?

yes mate, couldnt believe how much different it drives. Just feels more "alive" like its got loads more ignition in it and its boosts SO much earlier. Well good fun.

I can get a T34.60, with a maram shaft. i didnt think they made .60's?

never heard of a .60,

if your happy with it as it is, simply give stu a call, and see if he can change the spec of the chip.

you could get that maram shafted turbo, and stick your .48 on it...or live with a little less response and gain 20 odd bhp at the top on a .63,

i would mate, tbh it may help your traction issues a little bit, the .48 makes power so early we had wheel spin in 4th gear as it was wet

then just get a fuelling and det check and job jobbed, should be a really strong car then

Use a .63 as the T34 works best in that spec.

i would personally go for the .48 you wont see much power gains over the .48 or the .63 imho

the .48 is the housing we use on our 380hp conversions and they fly

My 3dr that Karl mapped had a T34.48 and it was a fantastic road car imo, very punchy, was peaking @ 32psi, holding 28.

My mate Martin aka BUD-WEIS had the .63 housing in his saff, when i went out in it it did feel a tad more laggier, BUT pulled bettter up the range, so i guess it all depends on what you want boxxer...

.48 For me...............

ive already got the .48 housing anyway.

How can you tell what size the exhaust housing is? is it stamped or something?

Its stamped.

Jimbo, did your dad ever use the .55 housings, got a similar specced engine here to Mikes original T34 engine and its obviously stamped .48 but it was rumoured it may be a .55.

Whichever it is its a very driveable engine but I need to get the chip checked that came from Stu as it looks like its designed for a .63 housing which ofcourse this engine definitely doesn't have

I've not got a pic to hand but if you look on the outside of the exhaust housing you should see it, I am 99% sure its easily visible.

Can't answer the other question but wouldn't mind knowing that myself !
