Recovering data from HD with pics
My mac recently died on me, so i took out the Sata HD and thought i could just plug it into my xp laptop using a usb box that i have. The HD is spinning and windows makes that sound that something new has been connected but i cant seem to get it to show.
Heres the HD in the USB box connected to my windows laptop

And here is a picture of the HD itself

Is there something blatently obvious that i am missing or could the HD be fooked???
Any help at all apprieciated!

Windows has no idea what the Mac's HFS filing system is, which is why it can't read it.
You'll need a program that will let you browse the drive - not done this for a while, and can't remember what I used, but I expect Googling "Browse Mac hard disk on Windows" will find you some nuggets of information.
Better idea:
Get a new hard disk for your Mac (they cost pennies), install OS X etc, then plug your old drive (still in the USB cradle) into the Mac.
