I'll try and brief, the car is making a funny noise coming from the cam area.

It's not constant, when the revs are on it's fine then you let off and a slight squek sound before nothing - sounds like a bearing around the cam area.

This noise wasn't there before we reset the timing as it was out a tooth again (slipped belt) and tensioned up.

We were wondering if we have tightened it too much -

what sort of tension do others do theres too??

Ohh also had the tps off and iscv and the idle screw out - basically stripped the throttle body.

 

Sure it's not a slight air leak from something disturbed ?
As for belt tightness the basic twist thru 90 degrees is fine, they don't need to be mega tight.
If you use a long screwdriver put onto where you think the noise is coming from and the other end resting on your ear you might be able to better point out where it's coming from.
One thing I have learnt with cars is sounds can come from some very odd places but sound like it's totally somewhere else, just a thought.

I presume so mate, but it's more a noise from a bearing and i would say it's either the cam or tensioner bearing.

I've just been for a drive and is nice but the noise sounds like feedback and is constant whilst driving.

Should their to be play in the tensioner?

I had a slight squeeky noise like you described , changed the cam tensioner and cam bearings , squeeks no more . Does it stop at about 1500 revs because mine went squeeky at idle to around 1500 revs .
