Default Focus sport

Ive just recently bought a 53 plate ford focus sport 1.8 TDCi.
Not sure if its a problem or not but when i start it up it almost shakes itself to death and also does this when i turn the engine off. When its on its totally fine, just wondered if its a problem or not!
Thanks

Diesels do it more than petrols, presumeably due to the higher compression.

The rear mount that bolts to the back of the subframe are common to fail, so have a look there!

Unlikely as he said it only does it when he is starting the car or switching it off. Does the tdci sport even have dual mass?

You may find its the starter motor, it was on mine. If the starter doesnt spin at 750rpm the car will realy struggle to start and it sounds like the engines gonna drop out when it does run. The DMF is a metallic sound and it will do it all the time once it goes.
