Ford Escort Rs Turbo
For sale is my pride and joy but due to other commitments it has to be replaced. Here is a detailed list of exactly what has been done to the car:
Exterior:
Body work is immaculate just had a full body re-spray in mercury grey Q7. This included all of the car but none of the kit as this was all done less than 18months ago when I brought the car. It is original 88 spec and boast a brand new set of original ford spot lamps, which are very hard to come by.
Interior:
Mint unmarked recaro 88 spec interior. Chrome roll cage from fusion fabrications quality is immense. Cosworth 3 spoke leather steering wheel, Custom boost gauge in place of coin tray.
Suspension:
Spax top adjustables all round and lowered 30mm on spax springs. New TCA’s and lower arms on both sides.
Wheels:
Brand new 17” OZ Superleggeras with 205/40/17 tyres.
Brakes:
Are new all round with uprated discs on the front but the whole lot has been replaced in the last 6 months. Also have a full 2wd cosworth set-up that can go with the car.
Engine:
Full 2.0 ZVH Conversion. This inc a fully rebuilt zetec bottom end using a high pressure oil pump, all new bearings, st170 pistons and rods, ARP conrod bolts, new water pump, fully rebuilt CVH Head inc valves re-lapped, and all new gaskets, Piper vernier and cam. Standard series 1 re-built turbo, Full mongoose exhaust, piper-cross air filter and super-chipped ECU.
I had the car rolling roaded at power engineering when the engine had just been re-built to check fuelling etc and it produced 157bhp and 233lbs/ft of torque at 8 psi. Car is now running 16 psi so I presume would produce over 200bhp now.
The car also has a new fuel tank and 2wd cosworth fuel pump fitted.
Also the engine bay has been tidied up a lot by having a full set of SFS hoses, which are as new and also a few pieces of chrome just to make it look that little bit better.
I.C.E:
The car has a pioneer cd/mp3 head-unit, kenwood kick panel speakers and two infinity 6 x 9s on a stealth shelf. Also has a twin vibe 12” 3000 watt sub and amp to power it all. Sound really good.
I have a folder full of history for this car inc thousands in receipts. Current mileage is just over 115k, with the extensive work that has gone into maintaining this car it looks like a car with half the mileage.
This is a reluctant sale as I wish I could keep it for a bit longer but due to other commitments it has to find a new enthusiast to look after it.
There are a couple of down points to the car as with any car of this age. The laquer has peeled off of one area of the spoiler but isn’t overly noticeable and also the car at some point had a dash mounted alarm which has been removed so there are 3 small holes on the top of the dash which i’ve been quoted £40 to rectify. Thats it.

All good from what i know mate when i had all the kit off for the re-spray it only required the rear arches repairing which is in the biuld thread in the retso section.

Respray was done for free as it was part of an insurance claim. the same bloke charged my mate £2300 for a full respray and its just as good as mine.
