3 weeks ago today i had to head cross country to deliver some suspension i was selling. Seeing as its all decent back roads i gave the car some stick both ways. My turbo had been smokey and i knew it was on a short life span. Anyway as i returned to my village i heard the dreaded squeel/scrape which i knew was turbo blades

I was slow in getting a hand to remove the turbo so 1st week was wasted. I sourced a 2nd hand 20k turbo locally that was nice price
week 2 was a write off as the wife was away on a 5 day hen do() in spain. Last thu got the turbo swapped and realised we'd broken a pipe on the boost solenoid that wouldve been ok but then my mate snapped the oil feed banjo when fitting it up

Ford dont supply the banjo on its own so got a whole new feed for £58
it arrived on tue and some cunt had robbed the banjo bolt, the only shitting bit i needed.
Got new parts yest and got them on.

Same mate who broke other bits whipped out plugs and removing one he cracked the plug off the plug hole and broke it
Local car places had no stock and car was missing badly.

Borrowed a set of plugs from Paul who i got the turbo from and at last she ran lovely.

Took car out and was shitting it that turbo was ok. Slowly increased the boost as i warmed her up. Eventually floored it and saw less than 1 bar and car was slow heart sank. Then twigged i'd put the standard map back on to stop turbo boosting so hard while damaged. Quickly got my DS, mapped to race plus and she goes like stink again

Glad you got it sorted out at last, think my turbo in the saph is fubar, it's screaming like a banshee when it comes on full boost.
Regarding the 3 door suspension, is one night next week ok or are you in a hurry to get it done before then????

What is a shafted turbo worth complete?

I know its worth something as anyone wanting a hybrid and trading in a standard turbo could sell turbo off for 250, buy mine to trade in and make money!!

Noticed a water leak yest

When we moved the water pipes to get to the turbo we left one side connected and folded the pipe out of the way. Well it mustve nicked itself as there was a pin hole leak near the clip on to thermostat and under pressure was firing it all out. Of course this was noticed after the car was out for a rip and scorching hot. Mattie was on hand and slowly bled and released the fucking hot water. pulled pipe, snipped the end 1" and fitted it back on ok. Honestly what a pisser

Sun is cool. wedding on sat at marcliffe and staying over (££ ouch ) but home when back to life. Will stop in for sure. When you there and why?

 

Lee seriously they are the bollocks. It's prob my favourite car i've owned and even beats my super cool MI16 205 which was my fav as it was reliable, fast fun. FRS out does it even in every way and is brilliant.

I tell everyone and i may be biased but everyone should try one. They need the dreamscience or bluefin flash for wee bit more boost. With exhaust and decat it sounds ace and goes nicely.

Like i told westy if you were nearer i'd leave you with it for a day and i know you'd want one!

 

And considering how cool my 3dr is with the spec if i was given the demand and HAD to sell one i'm not sure that it'd be the cossie staying in my garage!!!

It's an MLR RR day so just popping over to catch up and see how my mates car does on the rollers.
