Looks like chavved up junk to me. Avoid.

Don't mean that in a nasty way, just being honest.

Steer clear IMO... he bought it and cant insure it, so has probably ragged it around his local estate or his dad has given it some stick on his behalf. Car looks chav'd off its tits too, your Fiesta looks tidy so I'd hang onto that buddy. The grass is not always greener, that car will make you cry when it all goes wrong.

Cheers,
Grant

Ideally you should be looking for a totally standard, well looked after(FSH and enthusiast owned) UK Turbo. Then if you decide you want to modify it, at least you will know it's being done right.

I'll go and have a quick look on pistonheads and post a few links of cars I would look at.

What's your budget?

Here's the kind of thing you could pick up - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1082575.htm. Although you could actually find one with lower mileage than that for that price.

For a daily driver you would be best with a UK Turbo in my opinion. Also you have more chance of picking up a well looked after and reliable car. Imports come into this country with ECUs set for 100RON+ fuel. Most of them aren't mapped, and are just left to run on UK fuel by the chavs that buy them. This is why the engines don't last! And then people complain about them being made of chocolate. Haha, they've been detting their tits off for thousands of miles.

If you fancy an import, you really want to get a fresh import and have it mapped when it gets here. That is the right way to do things. Either that or just find one which has had that treatment, obviously by an enthusiast.

My other half telling me to keep the Fiesta and store it.
Have a second child on the way so need four doors. Could do with the space. Im in no rush to sell. Evo or impreza would be nice.

UK car - 214bhp standard
Import - circa 280bhp standard, and obviously the diffs etc on an Sti will be better. Better suspension etc.

But you could easily buy a standard UK car and have it running 280bhp. Then it'll be slightly quicker than a standard Sti if it's been mapped by someone decent: it's not all about peak figures! All you need then is some good brakes and maybe eibach springs and you've got a great car.

No problem. Scoobynet is a good place to do your research before going to look at cars. Any questions you have will be answered over there.

i may be wrong but i didnt think they resolved the issue untill they got to Evo6's another concern of mine is that with the diffs etc, they need servicing quite regular and with the price of the car being pretty low these days, there are lots of numptys around that may or may not have looked after them, so much shit to go wrong imo, lol

The Evo 5 and later models dont suffer from crank walk However, you wont get one worth having for Ł4500 imo.

PS If i were you i'd keep the fiesta instead of swapping it for that impreza.

that impreza is prob worth about the Ł800 mark, and to be honest if things have been changed without a remap then i will guarantee the big ends will be knocking in no time
