They signed up a long time ago...whether they like it or not.....as they committed to the sport long term in order to receive more prize money than the other teams and to continue operate under the terms of the concorde agreement when the old one ended.
They challenged that commitment in court in Paris a few weeks ago and the court ruled that they were commited to enter F1 already. So they have made a rod for their own back a long time ago

Personally I can see why Manor are there.....Prodrive has let them down once and was going to try a 'customer car' from Mclaren, which is not catered for by this years rules...they have no F1 pedigree as a company. Lola, well i'm probably more surprised by this, but, Manor have been very successful over the last few years and are just the type of team who did well entering F1 in the 'Golden Age' of the mid 80's when there was only one/two real manufacturer teams of Ferarri and Alfa Romeo ( I dont count Lotus as a manufacturer as the F1 team was a separate company to Lotus Cars and they used customer engines, the Chapman family owned, and still own the company Lotus F1 which is separate from Lotus cars )
To return F1 back to the good old days of full grids and close racing we need to fuck the manufacturers off and return to the private teams with a handfull of engine suppliers and a sensible budget. It's only been crap in F1 since manufacturers have come in with big budgets and made such a huge gap to the little teams ( with obvious exceptions )
