Default Focus 1.6 engine swap

Hi all,

I'm new to the site. My mum has a 2001 X reg Focus 1.6 zetec. Recently the cambelt snapped which has resulted in 4 snapped valves and a hole in a piston.

I've got the chance of a very cheap 1.8 or 2.0 focus, complete car. Would the engine from this drop in her car and if so how easily?

Thanks all,

No it wouldn,t .1.6 +1.4 have the inlet manifolds at the front.1.8+2.0 have the exhaust manifold at the front.I had to change mine a couple of weeks ago 1.6 out and a 1.6 back in.Was fairly straightforward if you know what yourdoing.

why not just buy the other focus and use that? would be alot easier than changing the enigine!

Because the other focus is a write off, hence being cheap.

Thanks anyway, i'll wait for another 1.6 to pop up cheap.
