Default Morette differences

I have a set of morettes I got for spares, for my Impreza. The guy told me they were of an escort cossie and that they are wider than the non Cosworth MK5 morettes.

Is this true?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys.

But do you mean longer, as in the depth of the unit? or horizontally wider? I can understand the depth being different, to allow for elec headlight adjusting motors, but why would they be wider?

Sorry, not had an escort for a very long while.

The headlamp goes futher into the wing therefore the indicator unit wont fit. The indicator is relocated the front bumper and is replaced with a sidelamp.

Sure someone will post a couple of piccies!

Ah right. I understand now.

Is it easy to tell the difference between the ecos and non ecos morettes?

Cheers Paul. Posted my last message before I saw this.

Going to put these morettes up for sale then. No inner lights. But may be able to put a couple of air ducts in. How much should I ask?

Aha. I bought them cos the inners were mint. The ones on my impreza badly corroded, even though they were newer then the ecos ones.
I was starting to think it was something to do with the impreza headlight design. So its good to hear that they all corrode. They are so hard to get hold off, and TBH, having just a H3 bulb that you can't ever seem to get uprated or aftermarket, they inners are not even worth having.

230 seems like a lot, but I suppose they are rare.

you used to be able to get the lens seperatly.

£230 was a good price to get for them, i wonder what i would get for my diamond ones with HID conversion! might get some standard lamps...

Thats not bad at all. Although they don't look like the morette outer shell with that piece missing from the top.
What bulbs do the inners take?
