I think cars look shite with just the back windows tinted, they look half finished, light smoke all round would look good.

Im the same. Espically if the car is a dark colour, it makes it look like a van.

REALLY light smoke only, any darker and it'll look tacky as fook IMO.

Also, invest in an un-painted (comes dark grey) STi Version 6 Front Lip Spoiler to even up the grey plastic on the sides and rear of the car and some STi Rear Lights to continue the clear indicator theme you've got going on. That'd finish the cosmetic mods for me, until the tyres need replacing, then source some 17" or 18" Anthracite wheels instead of forking out for some 16" tyres.

Wee bit of a tangent there, but I know you're new to Subaru ownership, so thought I'd help with some ideas to 'finish' the outside of the car off for relatively small wonga.

Cheers,
Grant

with the lasso tool, draw round the window, copy via layer, then adjust in hue/saturation, adjust the lightnees/darkness

Thats the only pictures that I've got handy... I'll go for a nosey to try and find something a little clearer for you, although being a subtle lip its hard to pick up I think.

The STi rear lights dont come with a foglight incorporated in the unit, but its easy enough to convert one of the reversing lamps into a foglight so that you dont have any problems come MOT time.

Cheers,
Grant

Dont do it Tiff, just the rears tinted look crap imo, and as already said looks unfinished or van like. I think the tinted window days are gone now.

Tints look great IMO just as long as you don't go dark.
