Default Cover For A Nearly 21 Year Old, Missus is 21 in 4 weeks time....

My amazing girlfriend is 21 on 05/07/09 and I've found her a car (Renault Clio Sport 182, Grp 16), however cheapest quote we can find is £1200 FC with £600 excess.

However I got re-quoted for her being 21 and its £900!! (exact same details and company), the problem we have is that I have no licence (currently looking like October(lost for medical reasons I get it back )

I've looked at temp cover for her, but everyone is saying either min age of 21 or 25 to get it. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get her covered until she's 21 and can then get the much cheaper insurance??

And before you ask we've bought it already, and will be driving it as soon as I come up with a a sensible solution for the insurance!!

Hi Tfbeeth,

These guys offer cover by the month if required, not sure how competitive they are but worth a try as you can buy just one month's cover:

Hope this helps..

Tony,

Thanks I've already tried them, and again its down to age

We've decided to just bit the bullet and take out a full years as it's highly unlikely we will find something.

I'm sure I've spoken to you many years ago Tony when I was insuring my MkIV Escort Estate, must be about 15 years ago now in fact I'm sure I was insured with Greenlight on that car
