Sounds like your iscv is sticking mate. Take it apart, give it a good clean then try it. I cant remember what you set the base idle to......is it something like 1100 with the iscv disconnected? The idle screw is underneith the throttle housing, quite a large brass thing with a 14mm lock nut iirc.

I would set CO then the base idle.
Base idle is set by warming fully up, disconnect ISCV then use screw mentioned to adjust to 950 or thereabouts, make sure all electrical loads are off.
If adjusting makes no difference maybe iscv is stuck.

If its idling at near 2k though tabetha then trying to set his CO will be a nightmare. Ive found adjusting the CO at idle from both extremes only effects the idle a relativly small amount when on standard cams (except when adjusting so far that it starts to hunt). If it was idling at around 1000 then yeah I'd say check the co first. To be honest I have mine idling at 1000 anyhows....Ive found it makes such a difference to the oil pressure when compared to 900.

Clean ISCV then set idle on the base screw to 1000rpm with the ISCV disconnected. I wouldn't set it lower than this due to oil pressure when its hot!

Maybe the base setting of the TPS not ok? I know when this is the case at a cossie 4x4 then the idle will rise to 2k.

Sounds like theirs a few things to take into account here, i've just had the car setup (before the cam snapped) so i don't want to fuck anything (else ) as it's running 30psi and want to use all of it.

Check your TPS,there are two smalls screws atached to the "buterfly",if these slack, then the Tps going out of range, and the idle going crazy(2000rpm)

pressure test the inlet pal, thats the only way to be sure you have no air leaks which, if your heads been off is the most probable cause imo

Correct. Engine sped cannot increase unless it has air, so you have introduced an air leak somewhere.

Hmmm mine is the same, real pig to get to idle when cold...have to sit there holding throttle as she wont idle without stalling for about 5 to 10 mins.....then when warm she sits at 1300 revs or so........................guess I have an air leak.....I have always been told it is down to the anti lag thats been fitted ??

I checked all vacuum pipes and are fine with zip clips on all of them - the head never came off the car when i fixed the problem. I'm going to check the tps as it's now on coil overs and everything now rattles.
