this may sound stupid but a mate of mine has been doing up his cossie,he had it back out on the road today and has turned the boost up 24psi i think before this it used to chatter lovely,but now it still does but has more grunt sort of 'thud' noise at the end when giving it death..just curious if upping the boost has any realation to the change in sound...cheers.

 

if he's upped the boost without putting it on the rollers and adjusting the air/fuel mixture it will go bang,it wont take long either,my mate blew his rs turbo engine in 4miles after messing with the boost

 

dont think its been properly set up on the rollers yet mate,he had a new turbo put on and think it were only running 18psi and has now put it back to where it was before the blower let go.

 

im no expert but if it was mine and id put a turbo on my very next stop would be the rollers to check she's all healthy.

 

rite..was out in my mates cossie earlier and it all seems to run fine untill its midway thru boost it just sounds as if its 'cloggd up' and a droning noise till u come off the accelarator..no power loss as such but on occasions the rev needle from 4k revs just shoots off the limiter..any ideas???
