the 130 seems to be the 1 to buy, cheaper than a 150 & more of them around.

we have a 150, awesome car, got it the end of last year, paid twice your budget but it was a 1 owner car that i've known for years.

as said before 130's when remapped are not that far behind 150's.

Had a quick look stu, are you worried about ones with high miles? for that sort of money your really looking at cars with around 130,000 miles.Get quite a few of them go through the auction near me now.I wanted a cheap diesel, ended up getting an 03 plate mgzt a few months back with all the toys ie 18" wheels, climate, leather, electric everything,90k miles, totally immaculate for £1800 from the auction.Has been a great car and really cant fault it.They have the bmw 2.0d engine in also which is a good engine. The golf tdis are great cars just cant help but feel there over priced for what they are...

Not sure you will find a good one at that price to be honest, depends how fussy you are. I paid 6k for mine a couple of years ago. But they are wicked cars!

Hi Jais

Thanks for looking and the reply.

No the mileage doesnt bother me, as when the engine gets really tired I can get one off the bay for 400-500 and fit it in a weekend.

Probably will be looking at one around 10 years old I reckon, and should find one within my budget.

Yours sounds stupidly cheap!!

3 point belts in the back of later cars, unsure on the S,T,V,W, Cars.

For your budget you'll more than likely get a leggy 110GT which doesn;t have the PD engine. Its still a good lump but not the same fish as the pd 115, 130 & 150's. I've had all of them and they are great cars. I think the engines capable of 400k+ and have briefly owned a 52reg car at 220ishk and in Eastern europe i'm told there are many in the 300's. The latest 2.0 PD tdi 140/170 engine (16v version of the old 1.9PD 8v) is even better. Wait till these are 2-2.5k

Rear beam bushes, if not already changed, will be hanging. You'll know if they are when you hit a good bump.

Have fun searching
