fitting new cam price ?
how much will i be looking at to get a new standard cam fitted to my s2 along with a new cambelt kit ? labour only . should i get it done by a pro in the rs scene such as msd or will a normal garage be able to do just a good of job . cheers
its not very hard to do yourself mate.
Rocker cover off,
rockers off
lifters out (if your not replacing these then make sure they go back in correct order)
cam pulley off
2x 6 or 8mm bolts (cant remember) that hold it in situe.
distributor comes off then the cam comes out with abit of wriggling.
if you put everything on a piece of cardboard as you take it out, to make sure it goes back in the same place its easy. shouldn't take you more than 2 hours and thats going steady.

i wouldnt feel confident doin it myself tho , what tools are need for seting the timing etc ? am i ryt in sayin wen fitting a new cam you have to start it and then rev it a 2k for 20 mins ?
Yup thats right 20mins @2k, you will need a timing light to be sure timing is 100% and if you are running higher than standard boost and have been setup on a R/R before then it needs to be set exactly as it is now, this is very important!!
