Angry rs1600i turbo running rough,sick lol

were do i start ive got a rs1600i turbo thats got a misfire and its blowing flames out the back and running rough,i dont know ifs its overfueling,injector blocked,air flow meter thing,wiring etc


does anyone have any idea wot it could be or will someone get this sorted for me as its doing my head in as i ve had the car over 2 years and could do with it on the road now.

any mechanics near wigan that wants a job doing it for me get in touch

Assuming it's on RST management, on the metering head, disconnect the 2 way plug off the side of the unit with the fuel pipes on. If it runs fine, then you have a coolant temp sensor issue. Don't drive it on boost like that though as it will have no on boost fueling correction (It will run lean).

its a turbo technics conversion as far as i know,it as no ecu etc its running on a dizzy with standard fuel injection etc

try moving the dizzy!mine did the same sort of thing.the mark on the body should be central but not always the case!does the manifold glow?

You need an ecu mate.

"Slider" on the 'rsi on tour' forum has 2 for sale (one mappable) in the classifieds section.

Well worth a look, quite a few lads on here have the turbo technics conv.

If you want my opinion then id take the kit off,sell it (as they are rare now!!!) then go back to standard or whack in a RST lump.

A 16i with a turbo tecnincs will never make more than 130bhp, due the the compression ratios. any more then 7-8psi and the engine will self destruct.

Where as the RSt lump is good for 200bhp relativly easily! And a N/A 16i engine has been known to reach 125bhp anyway!
