Default Std or uprated oil pump ?

I have to change the oil pump on my saph 4wd cosworth engine, but hesitating about the oil pump. Should I buy a std one or is an uprated one fine too ? Engine is gonna be a stage3 one (around 350bhp), with fully balanced bottom end, and new pistons rings, head has been checked and is ok, but I'm a bit worried about having more "inside" leaks with an uprated pump. What do you recon ?

i would stick with a standard pump ,as in my opion high pressure pump only needed if you are running an external oil cooler . hp pump will only throw all the oil up to the cyclinder head and starve the crank-due to the drain back time.

Dont forget that a big winged sump will have much more oil available to throw around

The high pressure pump does not throw it all up the top end and starve the crank, it has to go through the crank bearings on it's way to the top end!!
Unless you also add a restriction to the return flow/drain back from the head it will drain the same speed as before, more will drain though as there is more there to drain, if this were not the case it would all eventually be in the head, ie more is going up than coming back!!
HP pumps are normally used with higher rpm, or MUCH higher loads, a high capacity pump might be better, but either can cope perfectly with a external cooler, well slightly better actually as the oil will be colder thicker and easier to pump, maintaining better pressure.
A std pump will be fine at 350, and neither would cause inside leaks.
