Does anyone know where you can get these tinted style plates made?





I've saw a few cars at central day with them on and really liked them, are they road legal?

Guess i'll just get some tint spray/film and try it out myself and see what i come up with.

 

I think they are illegal, i dont know where you buy them from like that but i know of you put a pair of tights over them it has the same effect!

Of course they are illegal.

According to the law, number plates should be made by an authorised establishment, with the correct lettering/spacing etc and with the name/postcode of the company that made them at the bottom. If the Fed's stop you and the plates are not in spec and they have the makers details on them, they are in the shit. If they don't have the makers details on, you'll get a VRN I'd imagine.

Of course, people do ride around with illegal plates everywhere, so try your luck?

 

I just found out they stick window tinting film over them, Coppers are hot of numberplates round here too, i got pulled years ago for having st georges cross on my numberplate!

 

As above light window tint film is used on them, used to make quite a lot of these but not anymore really.

Not sure what they would look like with tint spray, probably too dark.

I take it is easier to take the plate off and do it? i got some window tint i can get hold of for free, might do one and see what it looks like! I could make a few bob out of it doin other peoples too!

not 100% sure tho

 

I got told you can get 3 points on you license for having a dirty numberplate by a panda cop and a traffic cop pulled me for it and wiped it clean for me, he said all you get is a Ł30 pound find but he let me off and gave me a fine for no seat belt instead!

 

I pretty much figured they'd be illegal, i just like the looks for shows and taking pictures and stuff.

I've already contacted Jamsport no reply so far!
