Dropped my Cossie of to get a new immobiliser fitted this morning in Benwell. I said I'd walk into Newcastle to kill a bit time.

I went to WH Smith and got a copy of Classic Ford and Performance Ford and started to walk back.

I got so far along Elswick Road and a Focus Police car mounted the path in front of me. The Copper shouted 'Stay were you are'. I'm like WTF? is he talking to me. I looked around and there was no one else there.

He then came around the front of the Police car and held my wrist and moved me towards the wall. He then radio's for back up. I am pretty worried by this point.

He then asks my name and if I had any identification. I showed him my bank card with my name on. By this time another Police car comes with blue lights on and stops behind.

He then asks me what size trainers I wear. I said to him 'are you taking the piss?' He was quite abrupt and cautioned me 'you have the right to remain silent anything.........' (you know the drill)

I said I'm a size 9. He then asks me to kick my trainers off and he actually fookin checked. He then said under section ?? and the blah blah..... I'm going to have to search you. He then asks if I want a copy of the document to which I replied err......go on then.

I then had to empty my pockets out on the wall and remove my jacket. He then asks if I had anything on me that I should'nt have. I said 'Like what?'. He said 'Knives, sharps,weapons drugs or anything that will harm me'

By this time the traffic is slowing right down and starring at me, Ive never been so embarressed in all my life.

The other copper frisks me and groped me. He asks my DOB and if I have been in trouble with the Police.

Erm no I have'nt and he checks. It comes back my old address off 3 years ago and a previous arrest off 2006.

He was'nt happy. I explained I had moved house etc etc. and I was not charged with anything so technically have not been in trouble before.

He gave me a copy of the 'stop and search' and said enjoy the rest of your day Mr.******

I then got my stuff back together and continued on my way feeling like I'd been man raped.

And they wonder why people have no respect, if you had refused they would have had to come up with a reason for an arrest you then could have had them done for wrongful arrest as you had clearly done nothing.

 

if they asked your shoe size,then theres been an offence commited close to where you where and fitting your description,only doing their job shrug it off mate

I tried to break conversation with them but they were having none of it. All I kept getting was 'answer the questions'

thinking back I'm pleased I did'nt wind them up because i would have been arrested and it would of bollocks my day up....

 

you obviously fitted a description of someone they were looking for for something thats happened so there would be no point in complaining other than making yourself a target everytime they see you in future.

I think the way they were going on if I never gave them my details I would deffo of been at the police station and the elecy place closed at 12pm so I would not have got my Cossy back for Cumbria

 

you have to give your details, name adress and D.O.B . if you dont your getting arrested.

Id of asked them why at every stage. They are required to explain reasons for searching etc

making you take your shoe off in public is probably borderline against the rules too theres supposed to be strict rules on what clothing etc they can make you remove in public and what has to be done in private to protect YOUR right to dignity etc etc.

I certainly would have initially demanded "why" when they ordered you to stop.

Also they grabbed your wrists which is restraint, and they have to have good cause to restrain people.

Had you been a crook they would have known the second they pulled on pavement as youd have legged it

They seem to forget that WE pay thier wages and are thier customer too. Theyve no good reason in the case youve described to not treat you initially with a bit of respect and change thier demeanour based on your reaction.
