always wondered this, people who never normally play seem to go mad and play when its a higher jackpot than usual...

whats wrong with em,is the "usual" millions jackpot not enough for em..

 

desperate dreamers i guess. Probably associated with a lot of the problem these days where people dream of winning money etc fuelling gambling, rather than actually doing something about making life better for themselves.

Plus also with more people playing the "big win" is more likely to be shared so ending up a smaller amount.

 

Its advertised everywhere alot more also.

they can play it for millions evey week of the year, but oh no 10 million must be crap..

 

In reality £1 million isnt THAT much money especially if your a youngish person, as its got to support you for your whole life.

Assuming you win a million age 25 then die at 65 (the excess's took thier toll ). Your only looking at £25k a year. Interest earnings arent going to be so great next decade and you wil probably waste £500k with ease on a flash house, car, and a few holidays in the first few years.

To make it work youd need some shrewd financial advice to get a decent return by investing it somewhere.

im in 8 lines tonight, never normaly do it, only when its flashed in your face, ie shops , papers , TV.

Did six lines last week at 80mill, got 1 No 2 stars, and 2 Nos 1 star, won £12.30

I thought about it but couldn't be arsed in the end. I run the normal lottery syndicate at work and we have 9 lines a week but that's it now. Obviously you've got as much chance as anyone else but it's still a bloody small chance.

Its just human nature with greed coming in to play.

It always makes me laugh when people try and stratigically choose their numbers and spread them out on the form thinking they have a better chance. 1, 2 , 3, 4, 5, 6 has exactly the same chance of winning as anything alse.

 

I bet there's so many people have 1,2,3,4,5,6 as a line. If that ever did come up as a jackpot there would be so many winners they'd probably get about £1 each.

 

fella i used to work with when i was an apprentice won the lottery with a syndicate in his pub/club he used to drink in. 250k he got, as it was a syndicate his missis played aswell so they walked with 500k when the others got 250k that was between 12 of them.

 

wasnt there a lottery guy on telly years ago saying there is loads who do them and if that won it would be about 100-200 quid shared out.. gutted.. imagine

Well had 3 numbers and 1 bonus star, and 3 numbers so I won about £30 all in! I also won £100 on ladbrokes Blackjack last night so not a bad weekends work.
