Default Rover Inlet on 2ltr Zetec Blacktop?

Hi, I am after some guidance/information from anybody who knows what there on with or had experience with.

I have a Mondeo with a 2ltr blacktop Zetec in it and I am getting a little tired of the amount or lack of power it has. I looked into doing a turbo conversion but decided I don’t want to go the turbo route and I don’t have a huge amount of cash for this anyway. After some research I have found that for turbo applications the rover inlet manifold is better that a standard Zetec inlet for air flow so was thinking if it’s better for turbo applications surely it’s better for n/a applications. All the information I can find is to do with turbo conversions not n/a.

Does anybody know if there would be any advantage to using a rover inlet manifold instead as a straight swap (with adapter plates to fit of course) than a Zetec inlet manifold. I purchased a t16 inlet manifold with injection written on the top years ago for a grand total of £3 with throttle body and injectors so would like to use it if its any use. I have seen while my searching that a manifold from a M16 is better than the T16 but don’t know how much better.

Any help/suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated

won't make any difference. Reason they use them for turbo is it can accept cossie style injectors etc.

On the blacktop engine in a standard installation, the alternator 'clashes' with the #1 runner. On a Focus around 6mm has to be removed (breaking into the runner) and even more to clear a Mondeo alternator (9/98).

It flows better (ref Ian Howell) but mainly at higher revs (shorter runners) so whether you'd get any benefit with the Ford management is debatable.
