Default st170 insurance higher than rs ???

Been looking at getting myself a focus rs or st170. just recived two quotes with exactly the same details, mileage, age etc and the st170 insurance is £300 higher!! Im 23 with 4 years no claims and no points. my postcode is ch43. Does anyone have an idea how they work this?? the rs came back at £1700 and the st170 @ £2000!

It all works on statisites, so they may of had more claims from drivers in st170's. Insurance is quite strange in how it works, i'm 19 with 2ncb clean license and i had my volvo 850R insured for £990 (which for my age is ridciously cheap i my eyes) fully comp and thats a group 18 car with 250bhp standard and limited to 155MPH, its mad how it works!

ST170 is a bigger risk to insurers somehow as said above more claims been put in for them stolen and stuff.
