Default Brake Master Cylinder

Can you fit a bigger master cylinder like one from Burton Power and will this improve the brakes. I have 325mm hi-specs on the front and standard on the rear.

If your RST still has the correct master cylinder, it will be 25mm, but they are obsolete now and if it's been replaced, it might have been with the 23mm non-RST one.

It probably is the pads. 325mm discs are too big for the RST really and for road use I think you can over-pad them. Try some very tame pads and see what they feel like, not that Green Stuff is that fierce!!

Did you bleed them properly?

They were on it when i got it, pads are getting low so i will try some pads better suited to road use.
I can get the EBC Standard pads (£20) or Mintex 1144 (£75)

Might get them bled as well, will it still be dot4 fluid or will the garage know what to put in?

See if you can get some ordinary pads from a motor factors, like Apec ones or similar. If not, EBC Blacks. See how the brakes feel on those, they are cheap enough after all. I'd try that before bleeding them, so you can detect a difference, if there is one and know that it was the pads.

If you're having the brakes bled, make sure whoever does it knows that the car needs to be on the ground, or at least with the rear suspension compressed to bleed the rears and that you have to bleed both sides of the 4-pot calipers etc.

Im limited to pads from Hi-spec, so ebc standard are as low down as they go.

Would the compensator thing at the rear have an impact on how good your breaking is as im pretty sure mine is a bit shit.

Why are you? I can't imagine Hi-Spec have their own pad shape. Get the EBC part number off the pad and call a motor factor. It's amazing that they can cross-reference!!

.....and yes the compensator will have an impact on how the brakes feel in general.
