Default Air filter size?

Hi all.

Can you help, i have recently bought a S2 Rs thats been played with.

In a nut shell the last owner told me he had modified the MFI unit so it's a bigger bore???

Not exactly sure what has been done but i'm planning to run it on the road so i need to fit some sort of Filter (not one on it at the mo)

Problem is i don't want to buy a K&N if its not going to fit, so to be on the safe side can one of you nice people please measure ither the Filter size or the MFI unit dia so i can be sure i am getting the right one.

Mine is 102mm across does this sound about right for a stocker??

Thanks in advance.
Chris

Buy the RST K&N, it'll fit.

Or better still, fit a standard Airbox with a K&N element in it, if you're more interested in performance.

I just been out playing with my car and the MFI has Audi written on it.

So i guess i'll take the safe option and buy a universal K&N the right size then make a bonnet rain tray.

I'm not that interested in Performance, my car was track prepaired (built as a trackday car i think), it was built a few years back so its the less reliable CVH 1.9 bottom end, Big valve head,Gt28 Turbo on a JP tubular manifold the list goes on. I have a print out for it of 270hp before the Turbo was replaced. Ideally i'd like to put efi management on it but cash is a little tight at the mo.

Goes well though but i have a 450hp Rx7 as well so the rs is more of the road car (don't matter how fast the RS is the driving wheels are at the wrong end )
