So, what exactly is the difference between an Anti-Pump lifter and a standard one then?? Has anyone ever cut one in half??

the difference is a softer spring inside the normal followers have fairly strong springs in, so if you get valve bounce the lifters take up the extra space right away. anti pump ones with softer springs are much slower to react so dont take up the extra space (not in the amount of time you would sensibly be in that situation at least! )
thats how i understand it anyway!
remember kids, always change cams and followers together, if you want the parts to last longer than a few k anyway! ( 4k im my case ) ah well important lesson learned!

I have a brand new set at home unused. When I swapped to a high lift cam and uppedthe rev limit to 7200rpm I swapped to a set of these, didnt have any problems.

run anti-pump lifers in mine, never had a problem, Im also using double valve springs in my big valve head!

As stated before there made for high reving egines. Solid lifters is the more extreme way to go!

Would be intesting to chop one up thou! anybody got any old ones, and angle grinder???

Its just another one of those things that we are sold not really knowing if they are any different to standard as they look identical externally.
