Please can you guys shed some light onto these cars for me? Are they good? Tuning potential?

I see that they are available for about 3k , which seems to be a steal.

Superb! GTI quality at a fraction of the cost. On my 3rd now 58 plate Vrs estate love it.

The local police are still running a Mk1 locally as an unmarked traffic car. That says it all.

As said above, they're just Mk4 golfs with a different shell.

I have an 02 plate and love it to bits [except the colour] been very reliable good on fuel ,the only thing i dont like is the handling but even so i can live with it
