hi got a problem with my sunroof openning and shutting, plus leaking..

cant get it to open fully to take it out so need to remove it some other way. dont know how...

if i was to buy a new one what car also has the same sunroof..

The glass from a later one will fit, but not directly. If you look on the Orion Register, they have done this conversion from the later cars retrofitted into the MK4 shape and it looks factory-finish.

The seal round the edge is not a waterseal, more for noise-insulation (whistling when driving). If you have water coming into the car from the sunroof, chances are the drains have become blocked.

 

ye drains are blocked but just need to get a new sunroof, so only the mk4 escorts will fit??

 

No not just mk4 sunroofs fit, mk3 will too. but they are a different colour. also to point out, no all mk4 sunroofs will fit, make sure the glass is tilt and slide, some lower spec models only had tilt.

no MK3 fiesta only had tilt sunroof, do you need the whole sunroof unit?
I.E the glass, runners and raisers etc?

If so good luck in finding a good one, took me around 4 months and 2 units to get a decentish replacement.

 

thanks for that lol, hmmm well got one at the mo but dont work, just keeps stopping and cant get it to open and shut, so got the glass runners and raisers. just dont know... lol,

i think why it dont work is because when someone put the sunroof in, they put the coils that make it open and shut the wrong way round. it was crossed over one of them. so was just looking to see if anyone had one to sell..
