Been looking for a 3dr Mk4 base model for a while now. Struggling to find one locally but have come across a couple of nice 5 doors.

I have bought alot of parts in anticipation of a 3 door.

Rear bumper, will this fit a 4 door.

3 door door cards are they the same as 5?

Rear seats from a 3i, will these fit a 5dr?

RS arch kit, how much mod work is required to make them fit the rear arches, anyone got any pics of 5 doors they have done?

Bumper i am not sure but possibly??
Door cards WONT fit
Rear seats will fit but may need the split bracket if the 5dr has a one piece back seat

Door cards are different
Seats will fit, although you need to make sure that you take from the same year range. Pre and post 1989 are different, so whole hinge assembly and catch would be needed if different year range.

Skirts will need modifying as the rear doors need to open. You pretty much pre-assemble the arch with the door open, mark where it does not touch the metalwork. Then, refit with the door shut to confirm your measurements. Once cut, you need to hide the gap where the arch meets the metalwork and fabricate mounts for the kit to fit the rear door. Also, leave a suitable gap between the two as the door needs to open easily without catching on the kit. Sounds simple, but it is a lot more complicated unless you want it to look like a bodge-job. Time and patience are the key to doing that task properly.

 

the orions had an optional extra rs skirts in their time and these fit the 5 door mk4 escorts no problem with no mods, used to have some on my 5 door but i ditched em when i reshelled the car, sorry about the bad pic i ent got a better side on one with them on. they are missing the small bit that goes on the rear door though in the pic

i much prefer em without!

there is a guide on fiestaturbo i think from memory that shows how to fit the xr2i/rst kit to a 5 door fiesta and its the same process as with the escort. there may be one on the orion owners club aswell as a few of them have the rst kits.
apart from things door related most parts fit both cars.

nah not a minter im afriad just looks good in pics, paint on the wing is slightly out and on a few other bits, am debating weither to spray the car first or build my 2.3 for it lol both WILL get done but which one first i still cant decide. goes well as it is but the frp behind it just leaves me at corners for dead with my missus driving!

 

Hi, sorry to input into your conversation, but I noticed you mentioned about the Orion side skirts for a 5 door mk4 escort. I was wondering if you could give a little bit more information on this please. I.e wat mk Orion. And I presume they wud b off the 5 door yes. Thanks in advance
