Focus RS II Press Launch Event @ Zolder (B) 01/04
A few weeks ago a friend told us Ford was looking for some heritage cars to attend their Focus RS II Press Launch Event @ Zolder circuit.
As Jo works at LPG he contacted the Belgian PR man and asked if we could attend the event with our EsCos... Yes we could!
They also asked if we knew others that would like to attend as well. Errrmmmm YES!
Lot's of people interested of course but in the end only a few of us could go (as they already contacted other people as well).
So we ended up with our car, our old red EsCos (owned by Shadowlandz now), a yellow mk1 mexico and a red S2 RST.
Other heritage cars present: 3d, Capri RS, FRS I, mk2 RS2000, Focus ST and a GT40 (because of 40 years GT40)
The event was meant for the Belgian press that didn't make it to the south of France a few weeks ago. They all could take the car for a spin on the road and on the circuit. Afterwards they could go on a passenger lap in one of the heritage cars.
But before the press arrived.... we could have a go ourselves in the new RS around the circuit
Everyone absolutely loved it but of course the die hard fans would never trade in their own car for the new RS
2 white and 3 blue cars greeted us in the pitlane
Some time later a green one joined the group (car was used for filming in the morning). This would be driven mainly by the man that did the Ring laps in a limit handling demo. That was... some serious driving LOL
Everyone was really enthousiastic about the new RS AND the heritage cars so I think you could say the day was a big success
Ford should really do these kind of things more often

When was the event??? I really missed this one
Btw. I've been to the AutoRai in Amsterdam, there was also the FRS II launch...what a great car
