Default What can i do to get a little more power from my RST

I bought my rs turbo escort about 4yrs ago now and at the time it had a very good spec but im looking to get a little more power, nothing stupid maybe an extra 20bhp or something

heres the Spec

1600cvh
low compression mahle pistons
piper T2 cam
S1 ported inlet manifold
Lightend and balanced bottem end
pace intercooler (normal sized one)
EMC fuel-air mods
mongoose stainless exhaust
hybrid turbo boosting 23psi ( i think this is a stage 3)
-31 actuator
ahmed bajoo mapped engine managment
AP paddle clutch
baileys dump valve
Samco hoses
K+N panel filter
piper vernier pulleys

im not sure if the heads been polished and ported or weather it has steel conrods because this isnt mentioned on the spec sheet.

i was looking at the 5th injector route with mf2 driver (but i dont know much about theses)

and maybe a bigger intercooler like the £600 pace one with twin fans but im not sure if its worth the money

what do you guys think

you can get a full width intercooler with fans a lot cheaper than £600!! and of better quality than pace!

The thing i like about the pace unit is you dont have to do any mods to fit it in

but yeah £600 is steep

i still wouldnt go for pace IMO. for example - the evo 4 intercooler by GRS is a lot easier to fit to the S2 now he's made a few changes and their quality is undoubted!

Defo go for a GRS, IMHO they look better aswell as doing Its job, the EVO 4 intercooler fits better and as mattbibs said

Is too true, I cant fault mine 1 bit, and for the price difference In the pace and GRS, I had to go for the GRS, not only that but with the Pace item you have to change the charge carrier which Isnt to everyone taste if you want a standard looking engine bay

You will get significant gains with another intercooler, id look into the pro alloy version. If the head isnt a modified one, then you will get lots more power switching to a big valve one. The MF2 is a very good bit of kit, and will be needed if u want to break the 250hp mark. 250 however, is about the limit of ur std rods

that is a VERY good price for that piece of kit esp with it being single pass! and with the fans as well!
To be honest mate your REALLY going to need a bigger intercooler if you want more power! that pace one must be shite at 23Psi!
Oh and as rick say a BVH will help release a lot more power.. its made a bloody big difference on mine anyway!
