Default Rad Fan - What temp should it kick in?

As above. I have just had a take off for a gauge added to my rad at the point where its fed from the head (2.1 ZT). Fan kicks in at about 99 C and cuts out at about 94. I thought it should kick in later than that being a pressurised system?

Think you're getting mixed up with the thermostat matey. Thermostat opens at 88C so the temp should drop lower than that, rad fan kicks in much later. Modern radiator systems are pressurised so the water is often at higher than 100C as it boils higher than that when under pressure.

I know it's not a real answer, but where on the temp gauge does the needle get too?
Mine goes no higher than 3/4 when VERY hot...

Should switch on at 98° AFAIK, so yours sounds about right.
