Default anyone adopted a child

The missus and myself phoned about the possibilty of adopting a child after having lost 2 babies aready in the past and being told that there was 25% chance of the same thing happening again, we decided against the wife getting pregnant again but still wanted another child to go with our other 2 girls. But when we rang today we were told that because our eldest daughter is autistic we may not be able to adopt as they aint sure that we would have the time to spare. To say that we are totally gutted is an understatement. We havent just jumped into this idea and have given it alot of thought over the last 3 years on how it would affect everyone.I will be really pissed off if they decided against us this reason but wont know for months yet.
Just wondered if anyone else had dealing with the adoption agencies and what was their experiences

We adopted our second child just last week.

Each local authority sets different criteria so if you are getting no joy with your own you can sign up to a neighbouring authority instead. Both our girls are from outside our local area.

Sorry to hear this buddy, I hope it works out for you in the end.

I read in the paper today that the parents of the 2 boys who were killed in that dreadfull car accident by the Luton Town goalkeeper had also applied to adopt a child as without there boys they felt they could still offer a loving home.............................................. .....they were rejected as the authorities believed them to still be grieving!!!!!

Makes me mad!

my boss adopted his son, i cant add much to help you, i no they had him since he was very young, 17 now he nows hes adopted etc, seems fine with it, he suffers from epalepsi which they find hard as abviusly it aint in ther family genes. alough he's 17 he aint allowed to learn to drive until he goes atleast 1 year without a fit or a blank.

duno how this can help you but its all i know about adoption realy.

I cant really offer you any advice.

But would just like to say FAIR PLAY!

Having spent a great deal of time in care, i would of loved it if a family had come up for adoption for me!

Dont give up honey!

thats a poor state of affairs to be refused for that reason. i suppose the queers ,lesbians and minority wierdos wanting to adopt are put first.

It does seem unfair, but from their point of view, it they've got any concerns whatsoever then they've understandably got to tread very very carefully.

Big, big respect to you though, and I really hope that they see sense.
