b5 and ib5 gearbox nut's help needed

Default b5 and ib5 gearbox nut's help needed

ok i need some help in the right direction i'm putting a 1600 zetec into my mk5 esco but want to leave the short ration 1.4 cvh b5 box in, for the fun factor i do want to have a higher ratio 5th gear though for motorway and dual carriage ways, can i get a different 5th gear and put it into the box i no the shafts have different spline numbers from the 1.4box to others but wasn't sure about the actual gear box itself

Oooo! and will the box cope with the added stress or am i on a loser, the zetec engine wont be modified much just cone filter and a custom exhaust to give it a pleasant sound and better fuel economy, no big boar exhaust i hate them with a passion

i really wouldnt bother, awful engine, utterly awful, if it was the all alloy 1.6 Zetec s/se then thats another story, 1.6 zetec e is totally rubbish

anything would be better than a carbed 1400 cvh though wouldn't it lol, well could i still fit the b5 gearbox onto an s/se and would it cope and also the 5th gear could that be swapped over i just want to be able to get most the bit's from the scrappy to keep the price down thats all but i need the extra power because of al the miles i'm doing at the moment, my 1.4 start to get thirsty on the motorway.
