Default my cars ticking over way to high 3000revs

as above my car is ticking over way to high i managed to get it down to 2000 but thats still high the timing looks perfect all pipes etc are tight the only thing that dont seem right is my dump valve aint workin its a baileys its open all the time so ya can see the spring is this the problum the only other thing ive done is put a diff ecu on but i swaped them again to my standerd one and still the same prob is i cant drive it as the brakes wont bleed another problum any theorys?cheers marc

if dv is open, it's letting in air -block it off.

If it's not the DV then your Auxilary Air Device could be stuck open.

problum is i dont have a dump valve block thingy i could try n make one out ov a socket how would i check the aux air?or and another thing could oil cause it?

nothing to do with oil.

Use the end of a broom handle to block it off.

ok ill try that 1st but what if it aint aux air how do i check? na didnt think it would but i havent got a clue what type ov oil is in my car dont even no if its diesel petrol oil lol what oil do you's use?

yeah tryed blocking the dump valve its exactly the same no difference all boost hoses are tight any ideas?

just turn the throttle screw either way at 1st

To test the aux air valve, pull the pipe off the throttle body and block that off.
