Default Going to New York...

What's the score with the new Visa process?

Going on April 4th and we have the Visa number but the question is - what do I do with it now?

Do you just keep that number then fill it in when you fill out the green card thing as you approach JFk or is it all changed now?

Any help greatly appreciated.

JK

I never got a Visa number - so unless it's changed since I was last there ('07) all I did was fill in the green card thingy on the plane and give it to the guy at customs. As far as I know you don't need a Visa unless working, and all recent passports are "machine readable" relegating the need for a visa....

I'm sure I read something from when Carlo said he was going to NY and there's a new procedure for securing a visitor's visa (possible replacement for the Green visa card).

You've got to get it done 72hrs before you leave or you can be refused entry to the US without it?

I would ask the Travel Agent but it's been booked online and once they've had your bucks they couldn't give a fuck.

Cheers

It's a visa waiver you complete the form online, asks a few queastions where your staying, have you been in bother etc then it gives a yes or no to travel. Though border control can still not allow you in on arrival but most unlikely.
