they'll sit in a little to much you would be better of running a 5mm spacer with them to make it et40 and 205 or even 215 depending on your set up

I'd run at least ET35, infact I run ET30 on mine and I wouldn't dream of running 215 section tyres unless your car was REALLY fierce. 205 at the most (thats what I run on mine).

maybe you should try 215 then you might get all that power down of the line and have a chance to compete with the big boys on the 1/4 mile

215 tyres on a powerful RST on a BC gearbox will equal cogs all over the floor. Trust me, I know all about the transmission weaknesses on RST's. As for competing with the big boys on the 1/4 mile, I've not tried timing a proper 1/4 mile for years, it's not my thing, hence the lack of results.

Anyone who has been to a thrash that I have attended will tell you that I am 100% top speed focussed and don't bother laying down sprint times until I reach my top speed goal as I would rather not break the gearbox first.

we've managed to run r888's with well over 300 ponies and gave a few evo's the slip of the line and as yet the box not had any issues and going to push it over next few weeks with 400 on tap with gas

Can't think why I've had 14 gearboxes in mine then? ....and pulled the teeth of third gear 3 times in 2000 miles?

strange that maybe you run crazy amounts of boost(over 25psi) and as it all comes in while in 3rd it's doing it in where as we run sub 20 psi so spike is less severe maybe luck, hope you get your top speed your after soon then maybe we might be able to go head to head on strip

The amount of boost isn't really relevant, the torque is. Mine is around 300lb/ft and is actually quite flat. It couldn't be a more gearbox friendly torque curve really.

Power is power at the end of the day. The BC 'box is rated to around 150lb/ft AFAIK and whether you have the power by way of high comp/low boost or low comp/high boost, if it has the power, it will break the gearbox.

I upgraded to IB5's several years ago and have spanked alot of those too.

i bet your box lets go at peak torque low'ish revs in 3rd gear ?
i find that just giving it death from 1st off the line right through the gears there ok but if you plant it at 40mph in 3rd it breaks.
what is your top speed goal? i thought it was 170 but you did that last year.
